Splitting an administration
One administration can be split into two separate administrations. This is useful when part of it is to be maintained independently going forward โ for example a dedicated savings goal, or a set of accounts that moves to another person.
How it works
Section titled โHow it worksโ-
Make a copy under a new name. Open via the hamburger menu [administration name] > Save as and give the copy a name that fits the part being split off. The original administration remains unchanged.
-
Remove from the copy the accounts that do not belong there. Open the copy and delete the accounts that fall outside this part. The associated transactions are removed along with them.
-
Remove from the original administration the split-off accounts. Open the original administration and delete the accounts that are now in the copy. Both administrations are then independent and without overlap.
-
Clean up unused categories. In both administrations go to More > Maintain > Categories, open the โฎ menu and choose Clear unused. This leaves only the category structure relevant to that administration.
