Exporting an administration

Via hamburger menu > [administration name] the administration can be exported in two formats.

Export to file

An encrypted, complete backup of your administration. Can be loaded back into Spendle — on another device, after a reinstall, or as an external backup.

1. Open hamburger menu > [administration name] > Export to file.

2. Save the file in a safe location (for example an external drive or cloud storage). The file is encrypted with your administration password.

Export CSV

A readable CSV file with your transactions. Suitable for other budget applications, analysis in Excel, or as a periodic export.

1. Open hamburger menu > [administration name] > Export CSV.

2. Specify the period you want to export. Spendle exports all categorised transactions within that period.

3. Save the CSV file.

Note

The CSV contains transactions including the assigned category, relation and any tags. The contents are readable and not encrypted — store it in a location appropriate to the sensitivity of your financial data.
