Synchronising

With synchronising you use the same administration on your computer, phone and tablet. Your changes go to your other devices through your Spendle account.

How it works

• After a change, Spendle sends your administration to your Spendle account after about 10 seconds.
• Until then, Sync with a number is shown at the top right. The number is the number of changes that have not been sent yet. Click Sync to send them right away.
• Your other device gets the new version when you open the administration. After that, Spendle checks about every 30 seconds whether there is a new version.

Tip

Are you closing Spendle? Wait until Sync at the top right is gone.

Starting on another device

1. Open Spendle on the other device and log in with the same Spendle account.

2. Choose Spendle account under Open existing.

3. Click your administration. Enter the password of the administration and click OK.

Spendle now keeps the administration as a working file on this device. Next time, Spendle opens this working file automatically.

Conflict: changed on two devices

Did you work on two devices without synchronising? Then Spendle asks what you want to do. Merging is not possible: you choose one version.

• Download newer online version. Spendle gets the version from your Spendle account and replaces your working file on this device.
• Force upload your working version. Spendle sends the version of this device to your Spendle account and replaces the version in your account.
• Cancel. Nothing happens. Spendle then stops synchronising automatically, until you click Sync or open the administration again.

Which one do you choose?

• Did you just change the administration on this device and is it correct? Then choose Force upload your working version.
• Are you opening the administration on this device again after a while? Then choose Download newer online version.

Note

Spendle makes a backup of your working file before it is replaced in a conflict, and every day when you open the administration. You restore an earlier version through Backup and restore.

Settings

In More > Settings:

• Upload automatically (on by default). Spendle sends your changes and gets new versions automatically. Is it off? Then you send your changes with Sync. Spendle then gets new versions when you open the administration, or when you continue after a break.
• Ask to download remote changes (off by default). Spendle first asks whether it may get a newer version from your account.
