Tracking expenses and financial overview

Spendle keeps the financial records of your personal household. It shows per period what comes in and where your money goes.

  1. Connect your bank via PSD2, or import a CSV or Excel file from your bank.

  2. Assign your transactions to categories, such as Groceries or Energy.

  3. Set up action rules. An action rule assigns transactions that meet your conditions.

  4. Add a cash account if you also pay with cash.

  5. Open the Insight screen to see your income and expenses per period.

In Spendle, you can arrange your categories in the Nibud groups. Income then falls under Regular income or Incidental income. Expenses fall under groups such as Fixed expenses, Household expenses and Reservation expenses. The totals are shown separately per group.

Not everything goes through the bank. You enter cash expenses on a cash account. This is an account without a bank connection, which you keep up to date yourself. When you withdraw cash, you record a transfer from your current account to the cash account. This way, bank and cash money are together in your digital ledger.

  • In Insight you see your income, your expenses and the result per month, quarter, year or salary month.
  • The Budget sheet shows income and expenses per category per month side by side.
  • Balance shows the balance of your accounts.
  • With Reports you view overviews over a longer period. You can save a report.
