Split transaction
Splitting divides the total amount of a single transaction across multiple categories. The transaction as a whole continues to match the bank amount.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”-
Click the transaction to open the details.

Choose the split option from the actions menu.

Enter a category and amount for each part. Spendle ensures the total matches the original amount.

Save. The transaction is replaced by multiple rows, each with its own category.
Useful applications
Section titled “Useful applications”- Mixed purchase — food under Groceries, drinks under Non-essential.
- Shared subscription — part of a phone plan for yourself, part for your partner.
- Receipt with multiple categories — e.g. a book and a gift.
- Cashback or discount — booking the discount amount separately.
Undoing a split
Section titled “Undoing a split”Open a split row and use the undo option in the actions menu. The original transaction is restored as a single entry.
