One administration for all years
Creating a new administration per year is not needed. An administration in Spendle continues, with all your transactions, categories, rules and budgets.
Viewing per year
Section titled “Viewing per year”With the period selector you view overviews per month, quarter or year. The balance of your accounts continues: the new year starts with the closing balance of the previous year. A budget for the new year is also made in the same administration. See Budget for new year.
Making a backup regularly
Section titled “Making a backup regularly”Do make a backup regularly, for example around the turn of the year. There are two options for this, which complement each other.

Backup in the timeline. Choose hamburger menu > [administration name] > Backup and click Create backup now. A manual backup is pinned, so it stays. See Backup and restore.

Backup as a file. Choose *hamburger menu > [administration name]
Export to file*. You get an encrypted file, which you store on a USB stick, external drive or in cloud storage. See Export administration.
