Adding a savings account

Banks do not include savings account data in the PSD2 connection. Three options are available to get a savings account into Spendle.

Most banks offer a CSV export for savings accounts that can be imported into Spendle. Download the CSV via online banking and import it via the Import tab — see Import CSV or Excel.

2. Keep it manually with a balance correction

Section titled “2. Keep it manually with a balance correction”

Create a savings account manually and update the balance periodically via Balance correction in the account detail screen. This way you do not need to enter every individual interest or savings entry — a single correction brings the balance back in line.

3. Via a transaction on the current account

Section titled “3. Via a transaction on the current account”

Saving by transferring money from your current account to your savings account? The action menu on the transaction itself can be used to create a counter-entry to the savings account:

  1. Open the transaction on your current account.
  2. Create a counter-entry to the savings account via the action menu.
  3. Select the savings account.

Spendle then automatically creates a counter-entry on the savings account — the current account balance decreases, the savings account balance increases.
