What is Spendle?

Spendle is a household ledger for your personal finances. It shows per period how much you spend, what you spend it on, and how you stand relative to your budget. Connect your bank or import a file, and categorise transactions manually or automatically.

Retrieve transactions

Connect your bank via PSD2 so Spendle retrieves new transactions daily. Or import a CSV or Excel file from your bank if you prefer not to connect.

Categorise

Assign expenses to a category — Groceries, Insurance, Outings. Spendle learns from your choices and then does it automatically via action rules.

Budget

Set a budget per category or per account. The budget wizard generates a budget for a full year in one go, based on a previous budget or your actual pattern.

Gain insight

View per month, quarter or year what comes in, goes out and remains. With trends and reports for longer periods, a cashflow chart and a net worth projection.

Spendle is intended for personal use — for yourself or together with someone else.

Your administration is stored encrypted in your Spendle account and synchronises between your phone, tablet and computer. A copy is kept locally in the IndexedDB storage of your browser — which the browser may clear without warning. A Spendle account is therefore in practice required for a licence, bank connections and secure storage.

To work without synchronisation, it can be disabled, but in that case create a backup regularly via Administration > Export to file.

Bank connections run via GoCardless, the certified PSD2 provider that manages access to your bank account. Consent is given at your own bank and must be renewed periodically (up to 180 days).

Spendle runs in your browser and works on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS. Spendle can be installed as an app on your home screen or taskbar, or used directly in your browser.

Spendle is free to use for the first 14 days. After that, you purchase a licence that you manually renew each year. View the current price at spendle.eu. More about the licence can be found in Purchase a licence.
