Managing relations

A relation is a clear name for the counterparty of a transaction — a store, supplier, employer or person. Transactions with cryptic descriptions then appear under a single recognizable name, and it becomes easy to see how much was spent at a particular relation over a period.

Open More > Manage > Relations. A list shows all relations with the number of linked transactions.

Open a transaction and manually enter a relation, or select an existing one. A transaction with the original description Q PARK AMSTELVEEN STAD NLD can for example be assigned the relation Q-Park.

Relations can be assigned automatically via an action rule, just like categories. After assigning a relation to a transaction, Spendle suggests creating a rule from it. Future transactions with the same counterparty will then receive the relation automatically.

Is the same store listed under two relations — for example AH Zijlweg and Albert Heijn? They can be merged via the actions menu; see Merging data.
