  1. From Budget sheet, open the menu at the top right and select Budget wizard.

  2. Choose the target year and an action.

  3. Check the desired options.

  4. Confirm. Spendle shows how many rules will be created, updated or closed. Click Yes, run to save the changes.

The wizard has four options for Action:

  • Copy budget from <year> — copies the budget from the specified year to the target year.
  • Actual pattern from <year> — generates a budget based on the actual income and expenses of the specified year.
  • Blank budget — creates empty budget rules so everything can be filled in manually.
  • Apply options only — applies only the options below to existing budget rules, without generating new rules.

Per method, additional settings can be specified:

  • Adjust amounts by — multiplies all generated amounts by the set percentage (positive or negative).
  • Update past months — sets the budget of already completed months to the actual amounts.
  • Set end date to end of <year> — closes the budget rules on 31 December of the target year.
