From the ideas box — November 2026
A request came in via the ideas box to be able to move budget from one category to another. In other words, booking budget from pot to pot.
Write off to category or result
Section titled “Write off to category or result”In the category details, on the Budget tab, you choose the Write off button. In the screen that opens, you choose:
- On date and Amount. The amount is already filled in with budget left.
- From: the category the budget comes from.
- To: Result or another category.
- Memo: your own note for both budget rules.
Under Booking(s) you see in advance how budget left changes in both categories.
If you book to a category, the total budget and the result forecast stay the same. If you book to the result, only the budget of the category changes. This shows up in Insight under Result.

Negative budget rules
Section titled “Negative budget rules”A budget rule that lowers the budget is now shown as a negative amount in the category. Before, such a rule was shown as Income in an expense category.
Availability
Section titled “Availability”The features are available in the web app from November 2026. Activate via Menu → Software update. The Android and iOS apps will follow later.
Submitting ideas
Section titled “Submitting ideas”Ideas are welcome via the ideas box. Not everything can be implemented directly or technically, but every submission is taken into account in the further development of Spendle.
