In Spendle you can create multiple administrations as described below. An administration is a collection of bank accounts you want to maintain in Spendle. For example your personal administration, containing your different bank-, savings- and mortgage accounts. An administration gives you one single overview of your personal finance.
Create a new administration
Create a new or open an existing administration via the hamburger menu → open
Your administration password is used to encrypt your data so only you can see the data. Please mind that without this encryption password you are unable to use your administration. There is no recovery mechanism for your administration password, so please store it with care.
When created, an administration is stored encrypted in your browser storage (IndexedDb). You can open and edit it even when your are offline. Each time you change the data in your administration, it is automatically stored in your local administration. All the administrations are visible as work files in the open menu.
To backup synchronize your administration between devices you create and use your Spendle account. A Spendle account is your personal account protected with a username/password which you can create in the Spendle app. A Spendle account is used to:
- Store a backup copy of your encrypted administrations (optional)
- Synchonise your data between your devices (optional)
- Store your purchased Spendle licence
When you open a workfile an automatic backup is created (max once a day) in case you want to revert back to an earlier version. When you open a backup version, a backup of the currrent version is also created, so you can switch between current and older versions easily.
